Hi Karen,

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on. Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.

Once you find a project that interests you, visit their project page for more information and to find out how to join. You can also use the Special Following page link to add the project tag to your profile, and you'll be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Hello,

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your note. You're now a confirmed member!

Welcome!

Hi!

Would you like to use WikiTree for research? You are welcome to do so as a guest for as long as you like. You don't need to Volunteer. You can ask a question in our G2G forum, or use the Search function (upper right).

If you are looking forward to adding your own research and contributing to our collaborative worldwide family tree, please leave us another message here on your profile page to that effect and we will be happy to make you a full member.

Thanks for wanting to help grow our collaborative worldwide family tree.

To add to WikiTree you need to be a full member — a Wiki Genealogist or Family Member — not a Guest Member. Since you want to add to the tree, please leave a message stating you want to volunteer. Unfortunately, we have many spammers who use the word "yes" in order to gain membership. Please leave me a note as to why you would like to join. Regards, Lee :)

Thanks for the note! You clicked on the Volunteer button indicating that you would like to Volunteer to help grow our tree. Volunteering means that you want to help with the Wikitree Mission and plan to abide by the Wiki Genealogist Honor Code. If you would like to help please leave us another comment here on your profile and we will be glad to confirm you as a full member. If you just want to explore, search for relatives or family information, you can do that as a Guest without Volunteering. Please let us know. Do you want to add information to WikiTree? If so, let me know, and I'll confirm your membership. If not, you're welcome to do research, post on our forum, etc. as a guest for as long as you would like.

Regards, Lee, Wikitree Greeter

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests. A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way! Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
