Frederick was born in 1842. He was the son of Hiram Bardwell and Emma Baldwin.

Frederick A. Bardwell was a Veteran of the Civil War. Enlistment Date: 30 Dec 1862. Corporal, Company M, 1st Minnesota Calvary. Reduced in rank to Private. Muster Out Date: 7 Dec 1863.

He passed away in 1865. Buried at Milton Cemetery, Mantorville, Dodge County, Minnesota.
