John was a Yeoman from Shipley County, Sussex, England. His birth date is estimated based on his date of death - 22 years.^[1]

John was married to Elizabeth Songhurst, daughter of John.^[2]

John Barber was a William Penn fleet passenger.

John and his wife migrated on the William Penn Fleet ship "Welcome."^[2]

Death and Legacy

John died on the Welcome in the Atlantic Ocean. it is noted that he died "without children."^[2] However, in his probate that was conducted in Philadelphia after the Welcome arrived to Pennsylvania, it is noted that his wife Elizabeth was pregnant. The disposition of their child is unknown. John owned an estate and it was left in its entirety to Elizabeth, daughter of John Songhurst. She was the sole executrix.^[1]
