Biography
Benjamin "Ben" Barber was married on July 1, 1852 in Gonzales, Lavaca Co., Texas to Nancy Ann Robinson, daughter of Jesse Robinson and Sarah Jane Newman.
He was remarried on Oct. 25, 1864 in Refugio Co., TX. to Elizabeth Ann "Jane" Williams.
He was a confederate veteran with the rank of private in Co. B, 3rd regiment, 29th brigade, Texas State Troops. He was also a member of Daniel C. Doughty's company called the "Refugio Spies".
