Polly married Philip Guile on 7 November 1813 in Danby, Vermont, United States.^[1]

• Marriage Certificate shows by Henry Herrick Jr., Just. Peace. Married in Danby, VT, no parents or birthplaces shown. Name Polly Ballard.
• 1820 census Concord, Niagara Co. NY age 26-45.
• 1830 census Collins, Erie Co. NY age 50-60
• FGR from Sally Nealond, Portland, OR says Barbara Ballard was the "sister" of Peter Guild - she apparently went to Portland and was with Peter.
• Letter from Sally Nealond, 10/94 - "All I know about her is her name and her face." In conversation, she said that Polly Ballard's picture is in the family photo album and sent me a photo copy; and the family tradition was that she was Peter's sister.
• Records sent by Dan Gwin 3 Jun 1996 show Polly Guile, Dinah Guile and Otis Guile of Otto, Cattaraugus Co. NY children of Isaac Ballard of Tinmouth, Rutland Co. VT (near Danby) selling land 25 Dec. 1827 that they inherited from Isaac Ballard - further study reveals Dinah is the wife of Otis Guile (identification affadavit by E. W. Austin) - translates that Polly and Dinah are the daughters of Isaac, 1850 census reveals Otis and Dinah married, with 2 daus. living at Cotto, Cattaraugus Co. Conclusion also is that Polly Ballard who married Philip Guile - the Polly Ballard, dau. of Isaac.
• Polly and Dinah sold land: film #28998 Tinmouth, Rutland Co. VT Deeds, Book 5 (1818-1829), p. 448 - 21 Dec. 1827 "Know all men by these presents that we Polly Guile and Dinah Guile and OtisGuile of Otto in the county of Cattaraugus in the State of New York for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to us in hand paid by Trustom Dodge of Danby in the county of Rutland and state of Vermont, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have remised released and by these presents for ourselves and our heirs do remise release and forever quit claim unto the said Trustom Dodge his heirs and assigns forever all the right title interest property estate and demand which we the said Polly Guile Dinah Guile have in and to a certain tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the town of Tinmouth in said county of Rutland, it being the land on which our father Isaac Ballard lived on formerly and we being heirs to said deceased - reference to the Records in the Town Clerks office for a further discription of said lands it being all the lands we should have any claim to by our Father Isaac Ballard- To have and to hold the said premises with all the privileges and appurtenances unto the said Trustom Dodge his heirs and assigns forever so that neither of the said Polly, Dinah or Otis Guile nor any other person or persons in our name or behalf shall or will here after claim or demand any reigh or title to the premises aforesaid or any part thereof but they and every of them shall by these presents be excluded and forever banned and we will warrant and defend the same. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twenty first day of December anno Domino one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven - signed, sealed and delivered in presence of Silas Cook, State of New York, Cattaraugus County - Polly Guile (seal)/Dinah guile (seal) Otis Guile(seal). Be it remembered that on the twenty first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Polly Guile, Otis Guile and Dinah his wife personally appeared before me E. W. Austin, A Commissioner for taking the Acknowledgement of Deeds etc. for the County of Cattaraugus to me personally known to be the persons who executed the within Deed and acknowledged that they executed the same freel for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and observing material alterations, erasures or inter"linantion"(?) do allow the same to be recorded. E. W. Austin Comm.filed(?) to record 2 Sept. 1828 attest Geo. ----Town Clerk.
• 11/9/96 called Garna Ballard, Long Beach, CA. I was referred to her by the Collins Town Historian, who said that she and Mrs. Esther (Tuckley) Thompson, of Huntington Beach, CA, in 1982 were researching the Ballards. Her husband, Clayton, died 1996, but she is the genealogist. Ancestor is Nathaniel Ballard, who, with his brother John, moved from Danby VT to North Collins, NY - she thinks Nathaniel may be the head of the family that moved to that area, possibly the father/uncle of the Ballards who moved to Otto twp. She also has Esther Thompson's records - I asked for copies of FGR's and offered to send her copy of the 1856 map of Otto Twp.
