Robert Balfour, son of Gerald Balfour was a Scottish peer.
He was styled Viscount Traprain from 1930 to 1945.
He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge.
He fought in the Second World War and earned the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Naval Reserve.
He married Jean Lily West Roundel Cooke Yarborough on February 12th, 1925 in Guildford.[1] They had four children.
His eldest son Gerald succeeded him at the 4th Earl of Balfour.
