Birth and Parents

Jane (Baldwin) Brigginshaw was born in Buckinghamshire, England.

Jane, the third daughter and fourth child of Richard Baldwin and Phillipa Corbman was baptized on 12 April 1618 in St Leonard's Parish of Aston-Clinton, near Wendover, Buckinghamshire, England.^[1][2]

Possible Migration with Father and Siblings

In his Notes on the Baldwin Family, C. C. Baldwin indicates that Richard Baldwin, along with daughter Jane were known to have been in Braintree, Massachusetts in 1637 and believed that Richard may be the father to Henry of Woburn and John of Billerica. Richard, brother to the immigrant Sylvester, would have likely returned to England himself as his wife, Phillipa, was buried in Aston Clinton on 30 July 1641.^[3]Richard Baldwin is listed as the father on these children's baptismal records at St Leonard's, Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England.

Jane (listed as Baulden; Bladwine) married Thomas Brigginshaw (1617-1661), the son of William and Margery (Wyatt) Brigginshaw on 28 October 1643 at Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England.^[4] They had one son:

• An early Baldwin history did not provide evidence that Jane had married Thomas Brigginshaw.^[5]There is an extant marriage record, however, as listed above.
