BAKEWELL-WILSON.-On the 12th October, at the Congregational Church, Port Pirie, by the Rev. W. Wilson, father of the bride, Edward Howard Bakewell, of Adelaide, to Octavis Eleanor (Ellie) Wilson, of Port Pirie.
Mr. E. H. Bakewell, former chairman of the Municipal Tramways Trust, and well-known Adelaide commercial identity, died suddenly in the train on the way to Morgan this afternoon. His body was found in a locked closet in the train after its arrival at Morgan.
Mr. Bakewell was with the official party on the way to the pipeline opening. He was 85 years of age.
Mr. Bakewell was chairman of the Tramways Trust from 1922 to 1937. He was also chairman and managing director of the S.A. Portland Cement Co., former chairman of directors of Commercial Union Assurance Co., chairman of directors of the Co-operative Shearing Co. Ltd., and member of the council and executive of the Stockowners' Association.
Mr. Bakewell leaves a widow and six children - Mr. R. D. Bakewell, of Benalla, Victoria; Mr. H. K. Bakewell, of Yalkuri Station, Narrung. South Australia; Mrs. T. C. Dewez, of Toorak, Victoria; Mrs. de Pledge Sykes, of Medlndle; Mrs. Rose Macrow, of Adelelde and Miss E. G. Bakewell, of Unley Park.
