Daniel Crittendon Baker was born on May 5, 1850 in Windsor, Henry, Missouri, United States, son of John J Baker (1809–1899) and Mary Eleanor Graves (1810–1892).[1][2]

By 1880, he was married to Virginia Jeannette Collins guaging by the year of ther first child.
