Biography

Emma Sue Baker was born on 05 May 1931 in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, United States. She was the daughter of Dwiatt Lyman Baker (1900-1982) and Bessie Pearl (Holmes) Baker (1903-1981).^[1]

Emma Sue was 8 years old when the 1940 United States Census was taken. She was living in Prattville, Autauga County, Alabama in the household of her parents.^[2]

Emma Sue and her parents moved to Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas and were listed together on the 1950 United States Census for that place when Emma Sue was 18 years old. Emma Sue was working as a telephone operator for the telephone company.^[3]

Emma Sue Baker was married to Tobie Lee Parker (1927-2015) on 05 May 1950 in Hardin County, Texas.^[4] They were the parents of at least 3 children, 2 of whom are likely still living. Their daughter, Maxie Mae (Parker) Champagne, died in 1988.

Their marriage ended in divorce on 18 July 2003 in Jasper County, Texas.^[5]

Emma Sue (Baker) Parker passed away on 19 March 2017 in Buna, Jasper County, Texas. She was buried in Antioch Cemetery, Buna, Jasper County, Texas.^[6]
