Thornton Beverly Bainbridge was born on 27 Nov 1912 in West Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Herbert Clifford Bainbridge (1885 - 1941) and Minnie Elizabeth (Morris) Bainbridge (1890 - 1982).

His siblings were:

  3. Francis James Bainbridge (1921 - 1992)

Thornton (29) married Agnes Laura Ward (~17) (born in New Glasgow, Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada about 16 Aug 1924; died in Grand Manan, New Brunswick on 19 May 2014), daughter of Percy Albert Ward and Rebecca May Bainbridge, on 5 Jun 1942 in New Glasgow. Their children were:
