Biography

Marcelline was born July 9th 1828, she was the daughter of Paul Baillargeon and his wife Madeleine Baillargeon. She was baptized the next day in Ste-Claire-de-Dorchester, godparents were François Jalbert and Angèle Morissette, no signatures.[1]

On February 20th 1849, in St-Anselme, Louis Fortier adult son of Jean Fortier and Angélique Mercier married Marcelline Baillargeon minor daughter of Paul Baillargeon and Magdeleine Baillargeon. Witnesses were Jean Fortier father and son (likely groom's father and brother); Paul Baillargeon (likely bride's father) and Pierre Baillargeon (likely bride's brother) who along with the bride and groom signed the register.[2]

Marcelline Baillargeon, wife of Louis Fortier, died July 30th 1896 at the age of 68 years. She was buried two days later in St-Ferdinand-d'Halifax.[3]

  • 1891 Halifax Sud, Mégantic, Page 13, Lines 3 to 7. Louis Fortier (65) and his wife Marcelline Baillargeon (63) are living with daughter Sara (29) and son Pierre (25) and his wife Delvina.[6]
