Biography

Carl Bailey is a part of US Black heritage.

Carl Vinton Bailey was born on 25 Jul 1879 in Fayette Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. He was the son of Robert Letcher Bailey and Jane Johnson.^[1] In 1880 and 1900, Carl lived with his family in Fayette Township.^[2][3]

Carl seems to have been married several times and seems to have lived in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia for a lot of his adult life. Further research is needed to identify more of his records. His spouses that have been identified are:

• Mrs. Jennie Smith, married 21 Dec 1912 in Cabell County, West Virginia;^[4] also listed on World War I draft registration card.^[5]
• Rosie, listed as his wife in the 1940 census^[6] and on his World War II draft registration card.^[7]
• Margaret Price, married to Carl at the time of his death^[8] and shares a gravestone with him.^[9]

Carl died on 29 Jun 1968 in Cabell County, West Virginia.^[8][10] He was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia.^[9]
