Hi David,

Would DNA matches if we are 7th cousins? Not sure how parallel comparisons work with DNA.

Thanks Stephanie

I've seen a few cases of that. But it is very rare. Even 4th cousins don't always have matches.

Hi David, I am Robert Smith, presently living in Toronto. I just came across this site when I was looking for information regarding the famous Round Barn of Mansonville. I am still in contact with your mother, Mary. My mother was Hilda Irene Jersey . She was a niece of Robert Jersey, of Round Barn fame. Your mothers father, Frank Cowan, (your grandfather) was my great uncle. In a couple of the obituaries shown at this site, there is a mention of a Mr. and Mrs Smith of Joliette, P.Q.and son. That would be my mother and father and my older brother Grant, now deceased. I wasnt born yet. The Madeline Jersey mentioned, was my aunt. Sadly, she died as a result of vehicle accident

Im not sure, but I may have met you a few years ago when I visited your mother and father at their summer home. I was with 2 friends who were treating me as a result of a significant birthday that I was having. Discovering this site has been fascinating. Its an odd feeling when you see the names of your parents mentioned in an online site. Thank you for all your work that you've done in relation to this site.

Good Day David,

I am enjoying reading about your family. I recall you as a young man when I lived in the manse in the mid-1960's. I remember you learning to play the church organ and I think you played for a few services. I have a question and it is who was Kate Bailey who ran the motel/cabins at Highwater on the road to Glen Sutton? We spent our last night with Kate as we prepared to move to Saskatchewan. When I was in Mansonville I had no interest in family; history; however, I have learned much in my research (Mount Hawk is named for my earliest ancestor, George Hawk, 1783; Iris Larocque of Glen Sutton was my father's cousin, my grandfather farmed almost opposite from the Guy George farm and that Kate Baily was somehow related which I think was through Ada Snyder who married Guy Griggs - Ada was a sister to my great-grandmother Viola Snyder Wilkins. I do not know if Kate Bailey was her married name or her maiden name.) About 20 years ago I visited Mansonville. We had lunch at Mrs. Reilly's house; a young man in the manse opened the church for me; we stopped at Owl's Head, Vale Perkins and took in Mount Hawk. While visiting with Jane Jewett, Howard Jewett drove by but did not stop. Any help you can offer is appreciated. Richard C. Worden (I was also known by the nick name of Dick)

Hi David

According to WT's relationship finder, you & I are 9th cousins, once removed through the Tuckers. Do you have a Lapham connection also? My relation to Barker Lapham seems to be very distant. If you are interested there's a Lapham Name Study at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Lapham_Name_Study. Take a look and join us if you are interested. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - I am only distantly related to Barker Lapham through his Barker ancestors, but I touched on this line a bit because his daughter Anna married a Bailey descendant (Benjamin Parker, son of Abigail Bailey) meaning Barker Lapham's grandkids have some Bailey blood. Still very distant though. I'm methodically entering as many descendants of my ultimate ancestor Bailey-788 as I can within reason, down to the level of his G-G-G-grandchildren at the moment. Dave

Hi, David, I am fairly new to this and I recently got my DNA test from Ancestory. I believe we are 6th cousins. I have never meet any cousins face to face so I am excited. My family moved around the US as a child and I never meet any cousins. Daniel Gage is a 5th great grandfather for both of us. Deborah
Nice to hear from you! We are also cousins (6th) through the Boynton's

hi David, on the Eastern townships village of Highwater, really shouldn't exist as it was done in any case. Location categories for this province are among my next targets for review, too many fingers in the pie with no coordination.

Hi David. I see you edited specific data fields on Halsted-10. Please cite the source for doing so. "The excellent research of ..." in the edit comment field a) won't be seen by most readers, and b) doesn't provide sufficient information for us to track down his research. Thanks so much.

I found Elizabeth Stickney's LNAB. It is Dawson, and I added it to both profiles, which I proposed for merge.

Thanks for suggesting I look into it! Sharon

Hi, David.

Thanks for creating profiles for people not already in WikiTree. I want to explain my edits to Hezekiah Bourne's profile.

You connected Elizabeth Trowbridge as his wife. You didn't include any sources (maybe you were planning to add them soon) and I wondered what your source was. I searched and found out a lot about Hezekiah, so I'm adding to his profile. (Still in process... I hope I haven't stepped on your toes!)

It turns out that Hezekiah married 3 times, and Elizabeth Trowbridge was not one of his wives, but some sources listed her as such. His first wife was named Abigail, and probably was Elizabeth's sister.
