Biography

Edwin Bader has Jewish Roots.
Relationship

Edwin Bader was born in 1891 in Pohrlitz, Nikolsburg, Mähren [Pohorelice, Tschechische Republik]. He graduated from the Medical School at the University of Vienna on 29 Jan 1916 with a Doctorate in Medicine. He was a physician until the Nazi regime revoked his degree and forced he and his family to flee the country, first to London and then to the United States in 1940.

He became a naturalized citizen in 1945.

His wife Lily died in 1959. He eventually remarried to a Gerda Simon, according to his obituary. No definitive information could be found to narrow down the several results for that name in New York - some are natively born in the United States, at least one appears to have also been an escapee of the Nazis.

In 1971 he received an award for 25 years of service from the Flushing Hospital and Medical Center. He appears to have died of a heart attack in 1973, at the Parsons Hospital, in Queens. No burial information was found.
