Dr. Rufus Herve Bacote was a Black physician in Kentucky and Tennessee who served as a first lieutenant and an army doctor in 370th Infantry Regiment of 93rd Division during World War I. [1][2]

He married Amanda Alexander. Her mother, J Amanda Maney (at the age of 90 ) was living with the couple in 1930 .
Rufus died in October, 1930[4][5] and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.[6]
