Joseph Anthony was born in on 3 December 1898 in Red Bud, Randolph Co., Illinois, USA and was baptized on 11 Dec 1898 in Red Bud. He was the son of Francis Joseph Bachelier (1874-1945) and Laura Mougin (1878-????).

1900 - 1930, Anthony Joseph was living in Prairie Du Rocher, Randolph, Illinois.

In World War I Anthony was a Marine Private. He entered the service in Jul 23 1918 and was discharged about a year later Mar 15 1919, after the conclusion of the war. His residence was listed as Modoc, Illinois.

On 3 April 1929, Anthony married Pearl Emma "Lady" Godier in Red Bud, Randolph Co., Illinois, USA. Lady was the daughter of Peter Archibald Godier and Harriet Ellen Hardesty. Anthony and Pearl had 4 children, all girls: Oneida June (1924), Wanda Lee (1927), Faye Lois (1929), and Lilia Gay (1934).

By 1940, he was living in St. Louis, St. Louis City, St. Louis City, Missouri.

Anthony passed away on 25 December 1944. and is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA
