Biography

Peter Ayer was born on September 18, 1729 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut.^[1]

He married Martha Hazen on December 04, 1751 in Norwich.^[2]

Together they had the following children:

1. John Ayer, b. 1753^[3]
2. Squire Ayer, b.1755^[4]
3. Hannah Ayer, b. 1757^[5]

He died on August 02, 1758, in Fort Edward, Washington, New York

His will is dated 13 June 1758 and proved on 2 October 1758 in Norwich. He mentions his father, Timothy Ayer, his wife Martha, his children, John, Squire, and Hannah, and his brother-in-law Jacob Hide jr. His inventory was completed on 1 January 1759 in Norwich.^[6]

In 1763, the estate distribution was set out to the widow, Martha, John (eldest son), Squier (youngest son), and Hannah (only daughter).^[7]
