Note N42Isaac, b. May 24, 1696; went to Ki.; then to Chester, where he m. Sarah Healey; and eventually settled in Rumney. He had eight childeren, of who was Nathaniel, of Rumney, who m. Ruth Garland of Candia. Their son, Nathan, m Lydia Simpson, of Greenland. Dea. Nathan and Lydia (Simpson) Clifford had seven children, one of whom was Hon. Nathan Clifford LL D., Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, who settled in Newfield, Me; m. Hannah Ayer and had six children; moved to Portland, Me. In 1850, and d. there in 1881. Hon. William Henry Clifford, counsellor at law, and in patent causes, of Portland, is his son. (Dow - p639)
