Saturday, April 1, 1905. The Death of Mr. Lewis B. Ayer. "Well Known Petitcodiac Resident Has Passed Away.". Petitcodiac, April 1 - (Special). The death occurred this morning at. Petitcodiac, about 8 o'clock of Mr. Lewis B. Ayer. Deceased underwent an. operation for appendicitis on Wednesday last, but owing to a previous illness,. about two years since when the patient was operated on for an internal. afflication, his strength was not sufficiant to rally. Mr. Ayer had been. carrying on a harness business in Petitcodiac for almost twelve years, and was a. prominent business man was was popular not only with his fellow citizens of. Petitcodiac, but also throughout the surronding districts. Deceased was one of. the leading Liberals in the town, he was also deacon of the Baptist church. He. was 49 years of age and leaves a wife, one son and also one daughter. The. funeral will take place on Monday afternoon.
