Edmond, born on May 24, 1830, to parents William Gordon Awbrey and Elizabeth Chapman.[1]
He first married Mary E. Phillips. They had a son, Edmond Hillery, born February 29, 1860, who fell off a wagon and died on October 14, 1868. Mary died on January 5, 1871.[1]
On December 7, 1871, Edmond married Nancy L. Dickson McLendon widow of Russell McLendon. She brought several children to the marriage, but their names are not known.[1]
