In the 1940 census Lois (age 27) was the wife of John C Garner in Commissioner's Precinct 1, Calhoun, Texas, United States.[3]

Lois Merle died on 10 August 2004 and was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Victoria, Victoria County, Texas, United States.[4]
