Thomas Awbrey (Aubrey, Awbery)
Thomas was born c. 1625 at Abercynrig, Co. Breconshire, Wales.[1] He was a son of William Awbrey and Elizabeth Johnes.[1]
His birth date is a guess, based on known dates pertaining to other family members.
Thomas followed his brothers, Henry and John, to Virginia. Thomas "Awbery's" transportation cost was paid by Charles Edwards who patented 150 acres in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia on Apr 27,1686.[2]
Thomas married an Unknown wife.[1] Very little is known about him and his family. Apparently he and his wife both died young, as his daughter, Dorothy, lived with Thomas' brother Henry and then brother John.[1]
Children of Thomas and Unknown Wife:
Much speculation has been written about Dorothy Awbrey, daughter of Thomas.
Dorothy North, the wife of his brother Richard, had a daughter Dorothy who married John Billups. Her profile had the following information about Dorothy, daughter of Thomas.
As author of The Washingtons: A Family History: Volume 1, Justin Glenn, points out:
The identification of Mrs. Dorothy Wright’s maiden name as “Aubrey” is almost certainly erroneous and is due to an apparently fallacious argument made by Charles A. Hoppin (Washington Ancestry, 1: 360 -366). Here Hoppin compiles a list of seventeen young Dorothys of marriageable age in the Northern Neck of Virginia, and then abruptly announces that only one of these is otherwise unaccounted for and must therefore be the wife of John Wright: Dorothy Awbrey. Grant skillfully pointed out that the Dorothy Aubrey in question is definitely not “unaccounted for.” Grant cites a deed in Essex Co., Va., dated Feb. 11, 1729, which clearly identifies “John Billups & Dorithy my wife … Daughter & heir Apparent of Richd. Aubery Decd Son of Henry Aubery Decd.” Since Dorothy Aubrey is thus established as the wife of John Billups on Feb. 11, 1729, it is very unlikely that this same woman was the wife (and mother of the children) of the John Wright (son of Maj. Francis Wright) whose death is plausibly dated by Hoppin himself to 1729-1730 (see C. Hoppin, Washington Ancestry, 1: 386)].[3]
Dorothy married John Billups.[4] However Dorothy has possibly been confused with her cousin who married John Wright.[5] John Wright married a Dorothy, and some believe we do not know her maiden name.[4] Others identify her as the cousin of Dorothy (Awbrey) Billups, who was Dorothy (Awbrey) Wright, the daughter of Thomas Awbrey, who was the brother of Richard Awbrey.[6]
Thomas Awbrey had a daughter named Dorothy who married John Wright.[6] According to researcher Glanton Awbrey Briggs, John Awbrey, Thomas Awbrey and Henry Awbrey, apparently all sons of Sir William Awbrey (d 1631) of Brecknockshire, Wales, sailed from Bristol to Virginia.[6]
Thomas died young, probably before about 1690, since his daughter was reared by her uncles.[1]

At best, they are possible but unproven children William Awbry with no evidence directly linking the children to the father.
At worst, there are reasons to call this line disproved and Thomas, John and Henry need to be disconnected from their father. This is only after a preliminary look and I will need to do a bit more research.
