Biography

Walter was born on 5 Mar 1921, the son of Charles Avery and Elizabeth Snowball.

In 1939, a checking clerk, he was living with his parents and brother at 2 Palmerston Avenue, Litherland, Lancashire ^[1].

Research Notes

Unlike his brothers, there is no GRO birth registration for this man. His parents married in 1916 so he was not illegitimate. A well researched family tree on Ancestry shows a place of birth of '3 Bouverie Ave, Yoker, County of Renfrew', which would explain the absence of a GRO birth registration. Place of birth changed from Liverpool, Lancashire, England to Scotland and marked as uncertain. Whitfield-2424 10:41, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
