Married Abigail Bill. Various deeds show that this Ephraim Avery was of Southampton, Mass. in 1773; of Montgomery, Mass., 1786. In his will, made Jan. 1, 1790, he called himself of Montague, Mass.; mentioned wife, Abigail; daus., Elizabeth, wife of William French; Prudence, wife of Stephen Root; Bathsheba, wife of Peter Bundy; sons, Ransford, William, Ephraim, Abel, youngest son, Samuel; executors, Jabez Bill of Norwich, and Sylvester Squiers of Montgomery (Northampton, Mass., Wills, 18:26).

He provided service during the American Revolution, as a Private, and with Patriotic Service as a Town Treasurer and Leather Sealer.^[1]

He died April 1, 1792, at Montgomery, Mass.
