Pension Medical Review
18 Jul 1865 Malone, Franklin, New York, USA
July 18, 1865 Late a sergeant of Capt. Eugene Willis Co. H 106th Regt. NY Vols. in the service of the United States who was discharged at Ladies Home General Hospital New York on May 16, 1865 claims an invalid pension by reason of an alleged disability resulting from a gunshot wound of the left leg. Wound was caused by a musket ball which entered the left leg two inches below the knee joint on the anterior surface passing through the leg and (shattering?) the tibia causing extensive destruction of tissue. There is at the present time a constant discharge from the wound, the result of necrosis of the tibia. There is also great deformity by a bending of the tibia at the point of fracture. There is lameness and weakness of the leg (which) requires a cane.
