Henri was born 18 Aug 1846. He was the son of Antoine Audette and his wife Marcelline Simoneau of Lowell. He was baptized 17 Sep 1846 in Stukely-Nord (Bonsecours), godparents were Joseph Guertin and Charlotte Lapointe, no signatures. [1][2]
On 28 Nov 1871, in Derby, Vermont, 25 year old (farrier or farmer) Henry La Point married 19 Year old Aurilla Chatney. It was his second marriage and her first, they were both residents of Ellen, Vermont. He was born in Lowell, Vermont to [Lapointe-1640|Antoine (Anthony) La Point]] and Mary Simmons who was born in Derby, Vermont to Lewis Chatney and Mathilda La Clair. [3]
In his later years Henry La Point lived with his widowed sister in law, Rose (Shatney) Colbeth per US census and his obituary.
The obituary for Henry La Point gives a DOD of 26 Jul 1920 at the age of 76 years. His wife is mentioned as surviving him but she is not named. His surviving sons are listed as Will, John, Alonzo and Pearl. His surviving daughters are Mrs. Getchell, Mrs. Rufus Allen and Mrs. Matilda Smith. Also surviving him are his brothers Barney, Joe and Merril. His father is referred to as "Kinne". [4]
The headstone for Henry La Point is in Cabot Village Cemetery, Cabot, Washington County, Vermont. YOB 1846, no death information. [5]
Military Service
Henry Lapoint, civil war veteran, applied for an invalid pension 19 Nov 1879 with an age notation made in his file on 6 Oct 1908. He died July 26 1920 in Tunbridge, Vermont. He had served in the 9th and 15th Vermont Infantry. His widow, Aurilla Lapoint, applied for a pension on 24 Sep 1920.[6][7][8]
Note:
Henry Lapoint age 22 on 17 Dec 1863 enlisted as a volunteer in Concord, New Hampshire. Could be the same person but this is not clear to me. Physical description included. [9][10]
Henry C. La Point is a different person, he was a military cadet and served in the Cavalry as well as the Vermont Heavy Artillery. [11]

Perley Lapoint was born 25 Mar 1883 in Belvedere, Lamoille, Vermont. He was the son of Henry O. Lapoint born in Lowell and Aurilla born in Glover. [14]
On March 24th 1937, in Cabot Vermont, 49 year old Perley O. Lapoint son of Henry Lapoint of France and Arilla Shatney of Rock Island Canada married Gertrude Gray. [15]

Son Daniel La Point, divorced, age 30, born 1874, died 22 Dec 1904 in Woodbury, Vermont. [16]
Matilda
On 19 Sep 1893, in Woodbury, Vermont, Elmer Ellsworth Barrett married Matilda Agnes Lapoint, age 14. [17] Full names recorded in their children's records.[18]
Matilda married a Mr. Smith before marrying a third time according to her third marriage license. The 2nd marriage records remains to be found. [19]
On 9 Apr 1936, in Cabot, Vermont, Edward Rollins married Matilda Smith, née Lapoint, daughter of Henry Lapoint of France and Aurilla Shatney of Island Pond, Vermont. [19]
