Firmin Louis Aucoin was born the son of Firmin Aucoin and Marguerite Bourg on 8 February 1779, in Nantes, Bretagne, (in present-day department of Loire-Atlantique), France, and baptized in the parish of Saint-Jacques on the same day. The baptism registry lists his parrain, Olivier Aucoin (paternal grandfather) and marraine, Marguerite Hebert, widow Bourg (maternal grandmother); and is signed by "Olivier Terrio," his uncle by marriage, the husband of his father's sister, Marie Aucoin.[3][4]
He arrived in the Spanish Territory of Louisiana at the young age of 6, with his widowed mother and his marraine, aboard "La Bergere" on 15 August 1785.[4]
Firmin married Pelagie Arceneaux on 3 February 1806 in St. James Parish, Louisiana.[5] Together they had at least 8 children:
According to the 1810 census, Firmin and his young family were by then living in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, Orleans Territory, United States.[6]
He died and was buried on 9 January 1825 in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, USA.[7]

Based on his name and vitals I found him on the Wall of Names. He is a Louisiana First Family patriarch and an Acadian born in exile. These qualify him for Acadian and Louisiana project co-management with you. We'll be happy to help with the research and updating the gedcom formatting, if you'd like.
Thanks, that's great. I believe his mother is BOURG-950, based on the original marriage record citing her parents (Firmin's Mat GP) as Alexandre Bourg and Marguerite Hebert. I'll make that connection and add a link to that source, Loire Atlantique Archives.
There appears to be a problem with the link to Adeline Aucoin bn.1840 (Aucoin-803) as his daughter, since Firmin Louis died in 1825. Firmin and Pelagie did have a daughter named Adeline, bn. 14 Mar 1807 according to Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records Vol. 3, p. 35. Is the birth estimate wrong? 1807 seems drastically different compared to the "about 1840" for Aucoin-803.
