Biography

This profile is part of the Atkinson Name Study.

Benjaimn was born in 1823 in Georgia to Lazarus Atkinson and Mary Ellen Lane.

He married a woman with the name of Ann Eliza Hughey. In 1850, they were living in Coosa, Coosa County, Alabama, and had two young children - Claudia and William.^[1] By 1860, they had moved to Clay Township, Columbia County, Arkansas.^[2]

He passed away in 1862 in Arkansas. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery in Ebenezer, Columbia County, Arkansas.^[3]

He was noted as father on his son Ephrain's death record in 1928.^[4] His wife's name was given as Miss Hewit.
