Tannys was born in 1950. She was the daughter of Elmer Aspevig and Lillian McKay.
On July 10, 1967 Tannys became the youngest woman to win the Manitoba Ladies Golf Championship at the age of 17. She gained a reputation as a port-sider and a putter of uncanny accuracy.[1]
She was posthumously inducted into the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame in 2012.
Tannys married William Walsh on August 21, 1971 at the John Black Memorial United Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba.[2]
She passed away in 2010 in Ottawa, Ontario after a battle with cancer.[3]
