John Askin Jr. was a Canadian First Peoples .

Biography

John Askin, Jr., was a fur trader and storekeeper at Fort St. Joseph. During the War of 1812, he acted as interpreter for the British Indian Department. He recruited and led about 300 Oddawa and Chippewa warriors at the capture of Fort Mackinac.
