Biography

Henry Ernest Ashby was born in 1880 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, son of Richard Ashby (<1826–1907) and Elizabeth Maria Barratt (1839–1911)^[1] .

In 1911 he married Veronica Ruth Myers in Leederville^[2].

In 1931 Henry Ernest and Veronica Ruth Ashby are living at Government Road, Osborne Park. He is working as a gardener^[3].

The newspaper death notice has the place of death as Wooroloo and the funeral notice as late of Wishart Street Osborne Park

Henry died on December 24, 1941 in Wooroloo, Western Australia, aged 60^[4] He was buried in Karrakatta Cemetery, Karrakatta, Western Australia. ^[5] and is buried at Karakatta (Wesleyan, Section DA, Gravesite 0008)^{[6] [7]}.

ASHBY. —The Friends of the late Henry Ernest Ashby, late of Wishart-street, Osborne Park, dearly loved husband of Veronica Ruth Ashby, loving father of Henry, Frederick, Sydney and Leslie, are respectfully informed that his remains will be laid to rest in the Wesleyan Cemetery, Karrakatta, at 10.30 o'clock TOMORROW (Saturday) MORNING. The Funeral is appointed to leave the Service Chapel of Messrs. C. H. Smith and Co.. 281 Newcastle-street, Perth, at 10 o'clock.
