Henry Jacob Arnst was born on 17 February 1878 in Warenburg, the son of Heinrich Arnst and Susie Stumpf. His birth was noted later with the 1874 family lists for Warenburg, but no name was included. He was the grandson of Philipp Arnst in Warenburg, Samara, Russian Empire.[1]
He was married to Marie Trippel. They came to the United States in 1898.
On 6 January 1920, Jacob and Christina Ernst and their children William, Martha, Esther, Helen, Conrad, and Emma lived in Plummer, Larimer County, Colorado. Jacob was a beet farm laborer.[2]
On 5 April 1930, Jacob and Mary Arnst and their children Esther, Conrad, Emma, and Mary's mother Mary Trippel lived at 414 Loomis in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado. They owned their home, valued at $2,500. Jacob was a farm laborer. Esther was a laundry laborer, Conrad a farm laborer, and Emma a laundry ironer.[3]
On 27 April 1942, Jacob lived at 414 N. Loomis in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado. He was unemployed.[4] He was 5 ft 6 inches tall, weighed 135 pounds, had blue eyes, gray hair, and a light complexion. He was reported to be rheumatic.
He died on 28 August 1951.
He was buried in Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.[5]
