She possibly died in an accident involving her clothes catching fire.

↑ William Archibald Kane (Walter) First married Ivy Armstrong in 1920 – who died in 1933. I can’t confirm it but I think there was an accident involving her clothes catching fire – perhaps her death certificate would confirm this. Again I can’t confirm that Stewart (stewy) and Allan ( the one who drowned when his ute was submerged) were her children or Kittys, but think - by ages – they would be Ivy’s. – William had a cancer on the lip.
William Archibald remarried in 1935 to Katherine Emily Smith (known as Kitty)

- In loving memory of our dear Wife and Mother,
Ivy Kane,
who was called Home on 25th February, 1933.
It's just one year ago to-day
God called the one we loved away;
Forget her? No, we never will;
As years roll on we will love her still.
Some may think she is forgotten
Sometimes when they see me smile;
But they will never know the sorrow
That the smile bids all the while.
