Ann may have married W Lyon but she was living with Archibald Armstrong (1695 Fermanagh-1785 Wilmington, Delaware) who regarded her as a daughter. Archibald, in his Will: "I leave unto my beloved son in law Col John Armstrong my beloved daughter Rebeckah Armstrong his wife the sum of thirty pounds lawful money to be paid to them out of my movable estate". Archibald's emigration from Ireland is mentioned in the Chronicles of the Armstrongs, as is John and John's father. I am still looking at the Ann/John/Archibald relationships, but it may be that Rebecca's mother Ann Armstrong was Archibald's sister and father possibly James (of Brookborough) Armstrong - again mentioned in the Chronicles, page 375. Some say Col John did indeed marry his cousin - common in that and earlier centuries
