Janet Armstrong was born before 21 March 1841 in Half Morton, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, the daughter of Margaret (Lorraine) Armstrong and James Armstrong.
She was baptised on 21 March 1841.[1]
Janet arrived in Australia as a child with her parents and siblings on 14 April 1848 into Port Phillip, Victoria, having departed from Plymouth aboard the vessel Palmyra. Her father is listed on the passenger manifest as a Labourer and mother is listed as a "Housekeeper".[2]
She married Thomas Armstrong in 1859 in Victoria.[3] Their children were:[citation needed]
Janet died in 1919 in Armadale, Victoria, aged 78 years.[4]
