Biography
William was born in 1828. He married Minerva P. Simmons on 10 June 1858 in Montgomery County, Illinois. According to the1860 census, he worked as a carpenter. He served in the Union Army as a Major, Company H 9th Illinois Infantry from July 28, 1861 to August 20, 1864. He passed away in 1867 and is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, Montgomery County, Illinois, USA.
