Sarah Armstead is a part of US Black heritage.
Sarah was born about 1865. Her father was born in Louisiana and her mother in Alabama. In 1880, Sarah was living in the 8th Ward in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. She lived in the household of Thomas and Amy Hutchinson, along with another young girl named Elisa Jones. Sarah is described as a "Hireling" and worked as a laborer.<1>
