Biography

Maria was born 5/12/1823 in Virginia. She married Jefferson Campbell Pendergrast on 11/14/1852 in Knox, Tennessee (Maria may have been married previously because the name listed on their marriage records was Maria Truslow, Truslove, Truslam). In 1860 and 1870 Jefferson and Maria were living with their children in Santa Clara Township, Santa Clara, California where Jefferson was a Methodist Clergyman. By 1880 the family was living in Modesto, Stanislaus, California where Jefferson was still preaching. Maria died 4/28/1893 and is buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Rural EHC 31 N 1/2).
