Biography

Reginald Armstead is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Reginald Armstead was born in 1889 in West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the son of Jessie Armstead and Robert Edward Armstead.[1]

20 Oct 1915, Reginald enlisted in the Australian Infantry, Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) and served in the 51st Bn.[2]

He was killed in Action in France on 16 Aug 1916 and was buried at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Somme, France[3].

ARMSTEAD.—Killed in action, in France, in August, 1916, Reg. Armstead. He fought and died for his country. —Inserted by employees of Fremantle Printery.
ARMSTEAD.—In memory of our dear friend, Reg., who was killed on the battlefields of France about August 6 or 7, 1916. A true comrade and hero. His memory will always be with us. —Inserted by Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Wade, Fremantle.
ARMSTEAD.—Killed in action, in France, on August 14, Reg, eldest son of Mrs. Armstead, brother of Roy, Ken, Olive, and Dulcie, Wickham-street, East Perth.
