Obituary

Mrs. Williamson Expires Saturday At Age of Ninety

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Margaret Williamson, 90, were held from the family home here Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. with interment in Odd Fellows Rest. Rev. L. M Chapman officiated and arrangements were in charge of Columbus Funeral Home. Mrs. Williamson, who had been ill for some weeks, died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Williamson, widow of Dr. C.A. Williamson, had lived in Columbus for 60 years. She was born in Clarke county, Alabama, on February 11, 1851, a daughter of James Westwood and Jane Elmira Davidson Armistead who were also natives of Clarke county.

Dr. and Mrs. Williamson and their three children came to Columbus from Alabama in 1885 and Dr. Williamson practiced medicine here until a few years before his death in 1925. Mrs. Williamson was affiliated with Baptist church here during the 60 years of her residence.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. S. Middlebrook of Columbus and Mrs. Friench Simpson of Hallettsville; two sisters, Misses Emily Jane and Willie Lee Armistead of Alabama; and four grandchildren, Friench Simpson Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif. Cpl. Earl W. Middlebrook of Alaska, James Westwood and Isabel Williamson of Atlanta, Ga.

Pall bearers were S. K. Seymour Jr., J. D. Seymour, E. G. Miller, A. H. Hahn, L. Waldvogel and Dr. W. W. Gunn.

Davidson and Mrs. Annie Cortes, Eagle Lake; Mrs. Jimmie Strole, Ferd Lacy, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Simpson and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Simpson Hallettsville; Mrs. Stanley de Waal, San Antonio.
