Lawrence "Black" Ardoin was a Creole accordion player.
Lawrence Ardoin, known as "Black," was born to Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin and Marceline Victorian on November 17, 1946. He came from a large family of fourteen, nine sisters and four brothers.
Lawrence married the love of his life, Mary Landry Ardoin in 1968; they had celebrated fifty-four years of marriage on October 5th 2022.
He died in December 2022 and is buried in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana.[1] He is survived by six sisters and two brothers, three children, and four grandchildren.
