Biography

Faith, daughter of Leonard "William" Appleby and Faith Pearson Hall, was born 5 March 1919 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.^{[1] [2][3]} She grew up in a relatively affluent family that moved frequently. In 1920 her father (age 24), who was assistant manager of a company (Waring Co.?), and mother Faith H. (21) lived in Duluth, St Louis County, with ten-month-old Faith E.^[4]

By 1930 the family had moved Seattle, King County, Washington. The household had grown to include William (age 34, life insurance salesman), Faith (31), Faith, her three-year-old sister born in Oregon, and a servant Mary Pelkey (21).^[5]

They relocated to Houston, Harris County, Texas between 1935 and 1940. The family composition remained the same: William L. (age 44, office manager for an insurance company), Faith (41), Faith Elizabeth (21) and her 13-year-old sister.^[6]

Faith never married, but rather devoted her life to teaching.^[7] She died 8 July 1993 in Marin County, California.^[3] She was cremated with her remains interred at Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga, Santa Clara County, California.^[2][7]
