Biography

Carl Apfel was a centenarian, living to age 100.

Carl Bernard Apfel was born in 1914. He married Iris Barrel in 1948, and the two built and ran Old World Textiles from 1950 to 1992. They worked with high-profile clients such as Hollywood celebrities, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the White House. They traveled the world together sourcing materials and were inseparable for the rest of their lives. Carl died in 2015, 3 days shy of his 101st birthday. He is buried at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York.^[1]
