Biography

Donald M. "Ears" Ankrim, 88, of New Providence, entered into rest on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Conestoga View. Born in Chestnut Level, he was the son of the late Preston and Marian (Ambler) Ankrim. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline "Polly" (Stump) Ankrim.

Donald was a self-employed plumber in Quarryville for many years and went on to work for the Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Harrisburg. A proud veteran, Ears served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a past commander in the former Quarryville American Legion, a member of the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge, and a life-member of the Strasburg Sportsman's Assoc.

In addition to his loving wife, Donald is survived by a son, Richard Ankrim of New Providence; a grandson, Jeffrey Ankrim; and a great-grandson, Ryan Ankrim. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Ankrim.
