Biography

Private Solomon Andrews served with Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Solomon Andrews, son of Charles Andrews and Elizabeth Strickland. His heirs named in his father's will 21 Sep 1805. Solomon died 8 Oct 1776 aged 34, notice was received 29 Oct 1776.

"... he was a soldier in the war of the Revolution and died 29th Oct 1776, near Ticonderoga, or rather the 29th of October was the date on which they heard of his death; the family record says he died the 8th in his 34th year ..."

survived by widow Sarah, daughter of Thomas Fox of Glastonbury, 6 children:

Children Samuel 1 Oct 1768, Abigail 15 March 1770, Olive 21 May 1772, Delight, Jonathan 7 Oct 1775. Son Solomon born posthumously 7 May 1777, died 15 May 1777.

Marriage: 8 Oct 1767 date as per Glastonbury Vital Records 1690-1854.
