Biography

Birth

Alfred Andrews was born at Raynham, Massachusetts, on 30 Aug 1779, the son of Rufus Andrews and Alathea (Unknown) Andrews.^[1]

Marriage

Alfred Andrews married Serena Carter. No record of the marriage has been found. The death record of their son Menzies Carter in 1907 gives his parents' names as Alfred Andrews, born at Taunton, Massachusetts, and Serina Carter, born at Raynham, Massachusetts.^[2] The death record of their son Philo P. Andrews in 1897 gives his birthplace as Livermore, Maine, his father's name as Alfred Andrews, born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and his mother's as Sirena Carter, born in Raynham, Massachusetts.^[3] The birth of the first known child of Alfred and Serena Andrews was recorded at Livermore, Maine, on 25 Nov 1806.^[4]

Residences and Children

Aldred and Serena Andrews were in Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), by November 1806, when they recorded there the birth of their first known chlld. Their last child of three shown in the Livermore vital records was recorded there in March 1810, but the lists of births for many families in the Livermore vital records are incomplete starting about 1812. At some point they moved to Hebron, Maine (then also in Massachusetts), where they remained until their deaths. They recorded all of the following children at Hebron, with the first three also recorded at Livermore:^[4]

Death

Alfred Andrews died on 14 Jan 1866, and he is buried at the Hebron Churchyard Cemetery in Hebron, Maine, where his gravestone gives his age at his death as 86.^[10]
