Research Notes

  1. Check Norwegian birth/christening records.
  2. Check Norwegian census records.
  3. Check Norwegian marriage records.
  4. Parents born in Norway. [3], [1]
  5. The immigration date is uncertain. 1900 census lists immigration year as 1862 but her spouse immigrated ca. 1867. If Caroline was born in 1851, then she would have been a child when she emigrated from Norway. Marriage year ca. 1867. She would have been about 16 years old if she married in 1867. 1880 census lists oldest daughter, Augusta, as age 10, born in 1870 in Norway. The next daughter, Jennie [Henrietta Caroline (Engels) Reinholtzen], as age 8, born in 1872 in Illinois. The 1870 census lists the oldest daughter, Minnie, born in 1868 in Illinois, and the next daughter, Louise, born in March 1870 in Illinois. Further research needed to clarify.
