Charles Albert Anderson, son of David Anderson and his wife, Jane Craven, was born at Saltley in Warwickshire about 1887. [1][2] Aged 14 in 1901 Charles was at work as an office boy to a pen manufacturer. [3] His parents moved to Saltley and Charles and his sister, Elsie May, went with them. [4]
Great Britain declared war on Germany on the 14th of August 1914 and around this time Charles married Ada Deeming. [5]
Charles died in 1970 aged 84. [6]
