On 22 August 1896, Giuseppa Amodeo, age 30 (b. 1866), housewife, reports the birth on 21 August 1896 of a baby to Maria Zuccaro, age 20 (b. 1876), housewife, wife of Pasquale Amodeo, age 28 (b. 1868), gardener, in their home in vico Canniletto, #3, Termini. The baby is a boy and is named Vincenzo Amodeo.[1]

Vincent Amodeo and Josephine Cira apply for a marriage license in Logan County, Ohio, on 14 February 1922. Vincent is 25 on 16 August 1921 (b. 1896). Lives in Albany, NY, born in Italy, fruit merchant, son of Pasquale Amodeo and Mary Zucharo. Josephine is 16 on 6 March 1921 (b. 1905). Lives in Bellefontaine, Ohio, born in same place. Daughter of Salvator Cira and Mary Demar. Neither previously married. Sworn 14 February 1922. Mary Cira signs her consent. License granted that day. They marry on 20 February 1922.[2]
Josephine's father, Salvatore Cira', was a fruit merchant in Bellefontaine, born in Termini. Salvatore, suspected mafioso, was killed in April 1908. His business partner, Charles Vicario, and his brother-in-law, Josephine's maternal uncle Salvatore Demma, both are involved in an extortion ring for which they are sent to prison in 1909. Vicario and his brother marry Josephine's older sisters, Mary and Providence, when they are released.
In the 1930 federal census of Albany, in Albany County, New York, taken 11 April, Frank Zuccaro and his nephew Vincent Amodeo both head households at 241 First St. Vincent and Frank are both self-employed vendors. Frank's wife, Josephine, is Vincent's wife's aunt, the half-sister of her mother.
Frank Zuccaro, 45 (b. 1885), and his wife Josephine, 45 (b. 1885), married when they were 20 (m. 1905). Both were born in Italy, as was their oldest child at home, Jennie, 23 (b. 1907), a widow, who was married at 19 (4ya, in 1926). All three emigrated in 1909 and are naturalized citizens. Their other daughters at home are Mary, 16 (b. 1914), and Minnie, 14 (b. 1916), both born in Ohio.
Vincent Amodeo, 33 (b. 1897), was born in Italy and emigrated in 1903. He married Josephine, 25 (b. 1905), when he was 25 and she was 17 (8 ya, in 1922). Josephine was born in Ohio. The rest of their household is on the next page of the census.
Anthony Cira, 23 (b. 1907), born in Ohio, BIL of the HOH, son Patrick Amodeo, age 6 (b. 1924), born in NY, and mother Jennie Zuccaro (her name is Maria), 76 (b. 1854), widow, born in Italy, live with them. "Jennie" emigrated in 1907 and is a naturalized citizen. Anthony is a tobacco company salesman.[3]
